Market-driven product development of high quality spare parts

Tech news

Product development of new or expansion of existing product groups, is always market-driven and aiming at generating specific and measurable benefits which can be turned into business for both customers as well as Triscan. "The majority of our development projects stems from our close dialogue with our customers," says Product- and Quality Director at Triscan, Jørgen Grand.

Product development is always based on detailed knowledge of the car parc development, composition and OE information. Triscan´s PDM system (Product Data Management) contains updated and detailed knowledge of the entire European car parc. "New car models are often platform-based and it is not unlikely that an already applied technology is used. We therefore often see, that parts we already have in our programme apply to several new models ".

Triscan´s product groups are characterized by outstanding coverage of the fleet and a very high orderfill. "With Triscan as a supplier you are fully covered and with our high orderfill and logistical setup, we ensure that customers do not go in vain or lose sales," says Jørgen Grand. In order to achieve a broad coverage, it is not uncommon for Triscan to be "First movers" in regards to development and production of parts for the free aftermarket.

At Triscan the parts are quality assured according to a prescribed procedure and the production is as far as possible subject to the automotive industry quality standard TS 16 949. Triscan´s expertise in manufacturing and quality assurance derives i.a. from the company's co-ownership of a manufacturing enterprise. "Our Business Intelligence system, automatically provides us detailed information on the development of complaint rates on a daily basis. In this way we are in a position to respond very quickly if needed," says Jørgen Grand and adds: "We are quite proud about the fact, that we in recent years have managed to reduce our already low complaint rate further, and to, for the business, a very low level, "says Jørgen Grand.

As part of the quality assurance procedure, Triscan regularly implement factory visits/audits to manufacturers. Upon receipt of goods a random input control is implemented, where parts are being compared with approved parts from Triscan´s sample storage. But also tests carried out by independent institutes are used in the quality assurance work.
