How many languages do you actually speak Clemens?

Corp news

Not so long ago 47-year-old Clemens Wirries, who is originally from Germany, started in our Danish customer center in Brabrand near Aarhus. In the customer center, colleagues receive calls from customers in 41 countries - and even though speaking English, German and Danish will get you far, it is of course great if you speak several languages.

Here, Clemens is something very special – and according to him, a bit of a nerd. After a short time, the colleagues in the customer center also heard Clemens speaking Swedish, Dutch and French! But how did Clemens come to speak so many languages?? Born in the northern German town of Kappel on the Schlei (Kappeln an der Schlei) - and inspired by the family's relations with Danish friends living in Germany, but also German friends living in Denmark, Clemens started teaching himself Danish as a young man. Since then, more languages have been added, and in addition to Danish, English and German, Clemens is particularly strong in the Nordic languages, including a bit of Faroese and Icelandic.

From the Georg-August University of Göttingen, Clemens holds a master's degree in history, political science and Nordic philology. As a recent graduate, he got a job as an archivist in Berlin, then in the Landtag in Lower Saxony, and as a folk high school and evening school teacher.

Almost five years ago, however, Clemens decided to move to Denmark, where he has worked at Novasol (holiday home rental) and later as an IT customer service employee at Visiolink (apps for e-newspapers). At the same time, Clemens has also worked with freelance journalism, where he has most recently written a portrait of the city of Randers, where he lives.
