A product focused review of 2018

2018 was an exciting year for our industry as well as Triscan. New initiatives were launched, warehouses expanded and rebuilt, corporate structures changed, and of course we have added many new references in various product categories. In this article we will focus on the latter and sum up the most important new product groups and developments.

Looking back on 2018 with "product focus", the brand-new product group of parking sensors must be mentioned right at the top. After the launch in October 2018, parking sensors were received with excitement by our customers. Thereby contributing to the further approach of sensors to the top of the list of our most important product groups. In keeping with the latest addition to our sensor group, we have also built a parking sensor tester. A detailed description of this tester and how it operates will follow in one of our later newsletters.

Obtaining spare parts for electric cars and new car models is difficult on the independent aftermarket. In 2018 we have continued our work towards a solution to this problem. In order to be able to offer these products to our customers, we have initiated special productions. Developing spare parts is not a new field for Triscan; we have previously had steering parts, sensors, brake discs, gas springs and cables developed as needed. In 2018, in addition to the development of parking sensors, our product department has focused on steering parts for hybrid and electric cars, e.g. Tesla. Among other things, we have worked on the development of the following parts:

  • Stabilizers for Tesla (8500 81600, 8500 81603, 8500 81605, 8500 81606)

  • Steering parts suitable for Tesla, Toyota, Nissan and Renault

  • Front wheel bearings suitable for Mitsubishi, Opel and Tesla

We have also expanded our range of gas springs, which is the broadest range of original quality gas springs across Europe and includes Korean and Japanese models. In 2018, we launched our new program of Electric Gas Springs. To test the quality of these gas springs, we developed and built in-house test-equipment. In addition, the production steps in one of our gas spring production plants were revised and modernized. Furthermore, we have launched an advantageous alternative to conventional gas springs, with outer springs, which are used among others at Mercedes Benz. Among other things, this differs in that it is easier to clean and can be offered cheaply. Read more about the progress that has been achieved in our gas spring production here.

The work put into developing our programs and services is reflected in the received demand, which has developed very positively in 2018. For example, sales of Triscan brake discs and wheel bearings have increased by more than 15%. The sensor-program experienced the largest increase - more than 40% compared to the previous year.
