The pliers (TRISCAN reference 8541 10) are used when mounting standard as well as stainless steel clamps (INOX) of the Oetiker type on to the drive shaft gaiter.
Stainless steel clamps are especially used on drive shafts with gaiters in thermoplastics. On this type of gaiter, it is very important that the clamps are tightened to the torque specified by the manufacturer/vehicle manufacturer – typically between 20-30Nm. The torque tightening is performed by using a 3/8” torque wrench which is coupled to the pliers as shown in the illustration below.
