For a long period of time, we have worked to optimize the layout of our warehouse in Glostrup. Customers receiving goods from our warehouse in Glostrup will already experience greater availability and faster order processing.
With the overall purpose of optimizing our warehouse operations and customer service in the Glostrup department, a team of experienced employees from Brabrand, together with colleagues in Glostrup, have implemented a wide range of changes. As a small side benefit, our two Danish warehouses now have a more logistically uniform expression – including greater uniformity in terms of procedure and method for warehouse operations.
It has been a big task where large parts of the warehouse have been relocated with the following result:
- 20% more storage = more items on the shelves
- 60% of warehouse locations are relocated = faster picking/order processing
In addition, the following measures have also been implemented:
- Batch shipping = single goods receipt for the customer/all orders in one shipment
- Electric picking vehicles with picking trolleys = faster picking/order processing

In the process of relocating the warehouse locations, we have focused on the compiling of product groups. Although in principle, warehouse operations with WMS (Warehouse Management System) and associated barcode scanners can be based on chaotic storage (the location of the goods is usually subordinate, and the same product can therefore be located at several locations), in practice it is not the optimal approach for all types of companies – and thus not for Triscan either. With 14 years of WMS experience, we have gradually found the right balance between chaos and systematics for a company like ours.
In connection with the work on optimizing the warehouse, we have also updated the office, canteen and toilet facilities and established a meeting room.
