At the beginning of May 2024, Marie Markman took up the position of ESG responsible (Environment, Social and Governance) and Compliance Officer at Triscan.
Throughout her career, Marie Markman has worked with the development, communication and implementation of projects, around new initiatives and aid organizations to move in a desired direction. At Triscan, Marie Markman will run Triscan's green journey in connection with ESG reporting - including climate accounting. She will also work to ensure that Triscan continues to comply with the various environmental requirements that are continuously placed on Triscan as a responsible company.
Marie Markman is originally trained as a landscape architect. In 2015, she completed her PhD studies at the Aarhus School of Architecture (Arkitektskolen Aarhus) and the Centre for Strategic Urban Research (Center for Strategisk Byforskning). Both during and after her PhD, she has worked as an independent consultant for the Aarhus Municipality (Aarhus Kommune), the Ministry of Defence's Property Service (Forsvarsministeriets Ejendomsservice), the Danish Arts Foundation (Statens Kunstfond) and Tækker Group, among others.
Marie Markman was part of the Green Academy (Det Grønne Akademi) vol. 7 in 2023 - a business-oriented offer from Aarhus Municipality's climate plan and Jobcenter Aarhus, which provides companies with help, knowledge and feedback on their sustainable development.
In that connection, Marie Markman was associated with Triscan as one of three Green Change Agents who, during a 4-week stay at Triscan in the autumn of 2023, were to prepare Triscan's first "mini" ESG report. Marie Markman subsequently took the exam in Sustainable Business Understanding (Bæredygtig Forretningsforståelse) based on the work she had done at Triscan.
Marie Markman is 50 years old, living in Aarhus with her husband and their youngest son. In her spare time, she loves to spend time in her holiday home in Frederikshavn with associated 1.5 hectares of land.
