After many years of intensive use, it has been necessary to replace our salt mist and ozone chamber with new equipment. Together with the rest of our test equipment, they are an important piece of our smart sourcing concept, but also complaint handling.
Salt mist chamber – corrosion resistance test
A salt mist chamber simulates an aggressive, corrosive environment by exposing test specimens to a fine mist of salt solution over an extended period of time. This allows us to assess how materials and coatings perform in conditions reminiscent of winter roads with salt or coastal areas.

At Triscan, we use the salt mist chamber to test:
- Brake Components
- Mounting brackets and fittings
- Surface treatments
The tests help to document longevity and resilience – and they play an important role in, among other things, the choice of manufacturers.
Ozone chamber – testing rubber and plastics in ozone-affected environments
Theozone chamber is used to simulate the impact of ozone, which can degrade certain types of rubber and plastics over time. In the chamber, components are exposed to controlled concentrations of ozone at certain temperatures and humidity levels.

We use the ozone chamber to test:
- Hoses, gaskets and bushings, rubber
- Plastic parts in engine compartment and chassis
- Elastomers in seals and membranes
These tests are essential to ensure that our products maintain their function and integrity
– even after years of exposure to ozone and other environmental influences.
A natural upgrade
The investment in the new test chambers is not only a necessity – it is also an opportunity to upgrade our test equipment to the latest technology. With the new chambers, we can continue our testing and quality assurance work.
