Triscan increases the competitiveness through logistic processes

Tech news

7,000 order lines – spread over 2,000 orders - are on a daily business distributed from Triscan’s three stocks in Denmark and Germany. Triscan’s focus has been on quality just-in-time spare parts for the numerous customers in Denmark and Europe. The speed of delivery is very much similar to the distribution of fresh good to the supermarkets, which daily receive fresh milk for the refrigerated counter, just except for the fact that the delivery of spare parts is a lot faster.

Top tuned logistics and distribution processes are critical in our world, where 25% of all orders are delivered the same day within a few hours, and 95% of all orders are delivered to the customer at 7:00 am the next morning at the latest. "It's wonderful when the spare part make it from Triscan via the wholesaler and reaches the garage while the car is still on the lift. We receive orders until late afternoon and deliver the spare parts at 7.00 am at the latest – from Umeå in the north to Munich in the south. We will continue to deliver "fresh" spare parts even faster than Arla supplies milk”, says Triscan’s Logistics and IT Director Morten Hallum.

The three main stocks in Brabrand, Glostrup and Hagen receive orders from wholesalers and importers throughout the whole day. "Approx. 90% of our order lines are received electronically via our own e-solutions TriWeb, Webservice and via TecCom. Without any human interference, half of these orders are sent directly to be picked in one of Triscan’s stocks. Our electronic order processor "AXA" is taking care of this", says Morten Hallum.

The technology behind the logistic process is absolutely vital and must function 100%. We have faced a great challenge in 2014 due to a transition to a new Axapta 2012 R2 ordering system. We had to work hard to ensure a delivery performance of 96% of more than 57,000 references - but we do believe that we have ended up with a well tuned set-up, where all systems are soundly integrated.

The future holds more significant adjustments, where we will visualise our logistics processes even better. Our customers and employees should be able to follow all processes closely and they will! We will concentrate even harder in order to further streamline and quality assure the flow of orders and goods by making the progress status visible both in and outside the company. Physically, we are going to make a series of investments that ensure constant focus on our overall theme "SpeedOn", Morten Hallum ends.
